Our last hunt of the season

Tommy and I skipped out of work early today to get one last crack at getting Tommy a bird. Our first set was fruitless so we packed it up and got back to the truck just as it started to rain, While we were waiting out the rain 6 jakes came out in the feild. Well I couldn't talk him in to taking his frustrations out on one of them so when it stopped raing we headed out to the far end of his property. Well that set didnt prove to be any better than our first set. We decided to pack up and do a little last ditch run n gun back to the truck as it was getting late about 7:30. As we were running and crow calling trying to strike up a gobble, we got on to respond. We took of like bats at of hell and tried to make up ground. We got a visual on him probablly 80 yards out but he was going the other way. I made a couple calls and it didn't seem to like that at all, he started to pick up the pace going away. We high tailed it ALL THE WAY across the property and got infront of him but we couldnt get set up in the exact spot that Tommy wanted because the bird kept pace with us and was closing in on us quick. He came to 80 yards and then started going away from us again. awe tried calling to him and he acted like a bird that has heard everything and lived on public land and was hunted hard all season. This bird had very limited pressure and was only hunted twice this whole season so I have no idea what his problem is. He is the most call and decoy shy bird I have ever seen! Well that's all for this turkey season I hope everyone else had a good season. We will be working on our deer DVD then our first turkey DVD. Hope you guys enjoy them.
